A solenoid valve is a type of valve that uses an electromagnetic
coil to drive it.
Working principle of solenoid valve:
Control the opening/closing of a pipeline or change the flow
direction of a fluid (usually compressed air or liquid) by
energizing/de-energizing the electromagnetic coil (electromagnetic
switch valve).
Change the parameters such as voltage/current (usually a current
such as 4-20mA DC current) through the electromagnetic coil to
control the fluid flow or fluid pressure in the pipeline
(electromagnetic regulating valve).
Common uses:
Solenoid valves are used in fluid power pneumatic and hydraulic
systems to control cylinders, hydraulic transmission motors or
larger industrial valves. Automatic irrigation sprinkler systems
also utilize solenoid valves with automatic controllers. Domestic
washing machines and dishwashers use solenoid valves to control
water entering the machine.
Solenoid valves can be used in a wide array of industrial
applications, including general on-off control, calibration and
test benches, pilot plant control loops, process control systems,
and various OEM applications.
