Production Description

A round tree grate is a circular tree grate with round planting holes. The planting holes are highlighted by two round slits. The tree grate visually appears to consist of three round elements. The openings in the tree grate ensure that the tree receives enough water to remain alive and growing. In addition, the tree grate protects the tree's roots from damage and ensures an even ground level around the tree. As tree grates are not only functional but also beautiful, Grijsen offers a range of tree grates. Each tree grate has its own pattern.

The root system of a tree can grow two to seven times larger underground than the tree itself above ground. This creates the risk of paving stones shifting, causing the ground around the tree to become uneven. Tree fences prevent this and ensure an even ground level around the tree. In addition, they protect the tree's roots from the risk of damage. Tree roots are fragile and can be damaged by heavy vehicles such as cars and trucks.

The round tree grates are made of 10 mm ductile iron and have a KTL coating. The outer ring of the tree grate is removable.

Manufacturing Process

Material Preparation: High-quality pig iron and scrap iron are melted together, with magnesium added to create a ductile iron alloy.

Casting: The molten iron is poured into molds to form the basic shape of the manhole cover. Sand casting is a common method due to its precision and efficiency.

Heat Treatment: The cast pieces are treated with heat to improve strength and flexibility.

Surface Coating: Anti-corrosive coatings are applied to ensure longevity in various environments.

Quality Control: Each cover undergoes rigorous testing for load-bearing capacity, tensile strength, and dimensional accuracy.
